Shipwreck Beach / Courtney + Joe / Kauai Wedding Photographer
Courtney & Joe reached out to me to shoot their elopement in KAUAI and initially wanted to hire a local hotel photographer. I basically freaked out at the idea of shooting in Hawaii and CONVINCED them that I was WORTH it and that they would NOT regret hiring myself and my husband to shoot their big day! Not to knock hotel photographers, but I promise guys investing in a photographer who can be your friend/hold your dress/and dance the night away with you will literally be one of the best decisions you make for your wedding day. When they agreed I was ECSTATIC! Alex had never been to Hawaii and I had only been to Maui, I knew the scenery on this particular island would be incredible PLUS these two were the sweetest humans ever making it even that much more exciting.
Kauai is known as the garden isle where they filmed parts of Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean (what?!) We arrived on the island a few days before the elopement and things didn’t exactly go to plan. There was an active hurricane threat and a large portion of the island was inaccessible due to severe flooding INCLUDING Courtney’s dream location for the elopement. Thankfully I was able to do some research and came prepared scouting the island for other epic locations for the ceremony. Courtney and I eventually landed on one she loved!
The light was pure GOLDEN and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I’m pretty sure I had a mini photographer heart attack because I literally have never seen any sight SO dang beautiful. This day was everything and more, Courtney & Joe thanks for being the kindest humans ever! We can’t wait to head back here to shoot!
